The mission of Wheelhouse Counseling is to facilitate health & happiness for our clients and community through counseling, coaching, and consulting. The company is led by Owner & Senior Clinician Brandon M. Wheeler, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (License #201415).
Much of Brandon’s academic and professional work centers on creating positive, solution-focused change. Whether through counseling, coaching, therapy, educational workshops, teaching in academia, or other professional activities, Brandon offers practical tools and resources to help people work through their challenges and toward their goals.
Brandon has been helping Houstonians achieve health, happiness, and wholeness since 2006. Early in his career, Brandon worked primarily with children and premarital couples. However, his practice has evolved to include counseling, therapy, and coaching with professionals, seniors, young adults, couples of all varieties, and teens.
Brandon sees clients from all ages and stages of life. He works with many professionals, young adults, and seniors seeking guidance in establishing healthy, happy lives. Though many clients seek marriage counseling or marriage therapy once they are formally wed, it is important to remember that clients need not be married in order to seek counseling. Relationship counseling and relationship therapy are very helpful avenues to address a wide range of issues, including communication problems, infidelity, trust issues, depression, anxiety, and more.
In addition to clinical work, Brandon has served as the Executive Director for the Texas Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (TAMFT) and President of its Houston chapter. He also teaches related courses at local universities and is known for building future generations of therapists. Brandon has presented at local and state conferences on psychotherapy ethics, relationship health habits, family finance management and other topics in the MFT realm. His work has been featured on Channel 11 KHOU several times.
In regards to his counseling policies, Brandon is unique in that he tailors the counseling experience to fit the specific needs of each client. Some therapists are fairly rigid about counseling content, structure, frequency, etc. Brandon's philosophy is to focus of the issues that are most important to you.
Whether you prefer to meet with Brandon one-on-one or if you prefer to have members of your social network in the room with you, Brandon will work with you to reach your life goals. In-home / in-office sessions are also available, pending schedule availability.
